Georgia does hospitality as a formal discipline. A supra — the long, toasted, seemingly endless table — is not a tourist performance; it is how the country handles guests, and the tamada running it takes the job seriously.
The geography helps. Tbilisi is a three-hour drive from both the Kakheti vineyards and the start of the Military Highway, so you can be in sulphur baths at nine and at 2,170 metres under Gergeti by two. We use that compression to keep the days unhurried.

Know before you go
- The Military Highway can close for weather between November and March; we always hold a alternative day.
- Harvest in late September is the best time to visit Kakheti and the hardest to get rooms — book five months out.
- Portions are enormous and refusing food is genuinely difficult. Plan one light day in three.
